Stockroom's leather team in Los Angeles makes about a dozen of its own harnesses, from the Texas Two-Strap ($59.95) and Stormy Leather's Terra Firma Dee ($76), with three silicone rings and room for a 3-inch one, to the Full Curves for hips to 58.5 inches and La Butch ($175).

A strap-on is a harness and a dildo, or one piece of silicone that does both jobs. The harness is where most of them go wrong. A cheap one rides up, digs in and lets the toy droop, while a good one holds the toy where you point it and keeps it there. For a first strap-on, buy a kit. Tantus's Bend Over Beginner Kit ($94) has a velvet harness that fits hips up to 60 inches, the Silk Small and Silk Medium in boilable silicone, and a bullet for the pocket behind the ring. Start on the small one, and keep the dildos when the harness wears out.
When you want a better harness, get the Spareparts Joque ($139 to $170). Its ring is stretchy and sewn in, so it holds toys from 1.25 to 2.25 inches across without swapping rings, and the whole harness goes in the washing machine. Under $50, Sportsheets' Leather Strap On ($37) has a real leather front panel. Aslan's Jaguar ($155) is the leather harness to keep for years, made in Toronto and guaranteed for life. Tantus's Strapless Slim ($92) skips the straps, and the Lovense Lapis ($129 on sale) adds three motors and an app. A wearer with a penis can use a hollow strap-on like Doc Johnson's Body Extensions, which fits over it.

A strap-on lets you down in a few familiar ways. The harness lets the toy droop or swing, the ring doesn't match the base, the straps dig in or can't be washed, or the dildo is made of something nobody names. So we look at how each harness holds a toy and how far it adjusts, which ring sizes it takes, what it's made of and how you clean it, how many bodies it fits, and what the maker does when something breaks.
Every maker on this list gets a strap-on score from five parts: fit and hold (30%), strap-on range (20%), materials and care (15%), value (15%), and shipping, returns and service (20%). It scores strap-on gear only, so a maker's number here can differ from its review score. Aslan, Spareparts and Uberrime have no review on the site yet, so their scores rest on what they publish, their materials, ring sizes, size ranges, warranties and return terms, read on October 30, 2026, like every price on this page. Tantus makes the dildos we'd put in any harness, and it sells them in kits. The Bend Over Beginner Kit ($94) pairs a velvet harness for hips up to 60 inches with the Silk Small and Silk Medium and a bullet. The Bend Over Intermediate Kit ($52.50 on sale, $105 list) steps up to the Silk Medium and Silk Large on a 1.45-inch ring, and the Sport Kit was $34 on sale ($58 list). The Strapless Slim ($92) has a 1.5-inch bulb for the wearer and a 1.25 by 5.5 inch shaft, with a single-speed bullet that comes out, and the Real Strapless was $47 on sale ($94 list). Our review names the Cush O2 ($73), a dual-density dildo with a softer outside over a firm core, as its pick for strap-on play. Everything is silicone you can boil or put through the dishwasher. Its harnesses sold alone, like the leather Nevada Connoisseur ($115), were sold out on October 30, 2026. Tantus takes no returns but covers its silicone for life against defects.
Stockroom's leather team in Los Angeles makes about a dozen of its own harnesses. Stormy Leather's Terra Firma Dee ($76) is a garment leather jock with nickel-plated D-rings for hips from 33.5 to 50 inches, and the Terra Firma ($76) ties three straps straight to the ring for a firmer hold. The Texas Two-Strap ($59.95) has a fixed 1.75-inch ring and fits hips up to 46 inches. The Full Curves ($98) is made by hand for hips from 44.5 to 58.5 inches, La Butch and La Femme ($175) are leather with two rings on three snaps for hips from 28 to 42, and the vegan Vondage Low Rise is $104. The Wand Thigh Harness ($59) holds a wand vibrator, or a dildo up to 2 inches wide, on a thigh. Stockroom lists its own KinkLab Ebb & Flow ($18) as 100% silicone, 5.5 inches insertable with a 2-inch suction-cup base, and it also sells the Joque ($140), the Tomboi and b-Vibe's sets. Its own pieces are made to order when they run out, usually within a few days. Stockroom won't take back anything made to touch the genitals or body fluids unless it arrives damaged or faulty, and then you get store credit or a replacement if you write within 30 days.
Aslan Leather has made harnesses in Toronto since 1992. The Jaguar ($155 at SheVibe, C$165 direct) is garment leather with slim buckles at the hips and two straps that close with D-rings. It sits low on the hips, so the toy sits lower than on most harnesses, and its ring snaps out at three points to take other sizes, with a 2-inch rubber ring in the box. The Minx adds a laced back with panels over the tailbone ($185 to $199 at SheVibe), and the Large Toy Commando ($165) takes toys up to 3 inches across, with rings at 3, 2.75 and 1.75 inches. Most come in two sizes, 26 to 44 inches and 36 to 56. Aslan repairs or replaces anything that breaks in normal use, for life, and you pay the shipping. Its own store prices in Canadian dollars, and US buyers pay duty, taxes and brokerage on top, so SheVibe's US prices are the simpler way to buy.
Sportsheets makes more harnesses than anyone here, most of them under $70. The Ember and Phoenix ($32.99) and the Bare As You Dare ($34.99) are the entry level. The Leather Strap On ($44.99, or $37 at SheVibe) puts a latigo leather panel on the front with snaps for other ring sizes, and the Saffron is $43.35 on sale ($50.99 list). For bigger bodies, the Plush and Noire ($53.99) fit hips up to 72 inches and come with three rings, and the Curvy Divine ($64.99, sold out at Sportsheets and $53 at SheVibe) runs from 28 to 82. The Saffron Silicone Pegging Kit ($57.99) adds a 5-inch silicone dildo, and the Ultra Thigh ($45.99) is a neoprene band with a 1.75-inch ring for thighs from 17 to 32 inches. Nylon and neoprene flex more than leather, so a long or heavy dildo moves more in a Sportsheets harness than in an Aslan. Read each listing. The Saffron's doesn't say what it's made of, and the Aurora High Waisted carries a California Prop 65 warning for three phthalates. Spareparts makes the Joque, the harness our Tantus review calls the gold standard. The Joque Cover is a two-strap jock in layered nylon or poly-spandex lined with mesh. A stretchy ring sewn into the front fits toys from 1.25 to 2.25 inches across, with pockets above and below it for a bullet. Size A fits a 20 to 50 inch waist and Size B 35 to 65, and Stockroom calls it waterproof and machine washable. The Tomboi Cover ($109.95 at SheVibe) is the same idea in briefs, 77% nylon and 23% spandex with two pockets for a mini vibe, handcrafted in the USA and sized from XXS (24 to 30 inches). It runs snug, and SheVibe doesn't take it back. The Deuce Cover ($159.95) has two openings for two toys, and stabilizer rings ($9.95 to $14.95) make a slimmer toy sit firm in the stretchy ring. Spareparts' own site showed only "Coming Soon" on October 30, 2026, so there's no maker store or warranty page to go to. Buy the Joque at b-Vibe ($138.60 on sale), Stockroom ($140) or NYTC ($169.99), and the Tomboi at SheVibe.
Vixen's VixSkin dildos have a non-slip base made for a harness and the most skin-like feel on this page: the Spur ($96), Colt ($125), Mustang (from $136) and Maverick (from $140), all less at SheVibe. Its Crotch Rocket harness ($89.95) comes in real or vegan leather with a 2-inch ring and takes other rings from 1.6 to 2.75 inches. It leaves the wearer's genitals free, so a wearer with a penis can use it too. It comes in Small (waist 24 to 38.5 inches) and Large (34 to 52), and Vixen asks for an under measurement as well, from the front of the waist between the legs to the back. The Peacemaker ($162) is a double dildo made to wear in a harness, and the Ride On ($148) is a hollow VixSkin strap-on for a wearer with a penis. Vixen's sales are final, and both Small harnesses were sold out on October 30.
Uberrime pours platinum silicone dildos to order, gives each one's hardness on the Shore scale, and says which ring it needs. The Pegging Dildo is $59 in Small (6.5 inches insertable, a 1.11-inch head, for a 1.5 to 1.75 inch ring) and $79 in Large (7.5 inches, a 1.35-inch head, for a 2-inch ring), in firm Shore 20A or hard 30A. The Tris ($65 and $89) and Senos ($69 and $95) are made long enough for harness use. Orders are poured and packed in 5 to 10 business days, and US delivery generally takes 2 to 9 days after that. There are no returns once a toy ships, defects have to be reported within five days, and an order can be cancelled only before it's poured.
b-Vibe sells strap-on sets with a silicone dildo, a neoprene and polypropylene harness for waists up to 68 inches, and three silicone rings. The Beginners set ($49.99, or $45 at SheVibe) has a 5-inch dildo, the Every Body set ($59.99, or $54 at SheVibe) a 6-inch one and a padded back, and the vibrating Every Body kit ($99.99) is rechargeable and IPX7. They carry a one-year limited warranty, and b-Vibe won't take back opened items that aren't faulty.
Mr Hankey's makes harnesses for its own toys, and most harness ring sets stop at 2 inches, too small for a Perfect Penis. The Pan Pegging Jock ($145.95) is thick leather made by hand by DetoXXXLeather, with a 3-inch metal ring on snaps, removable butt straps and a waist of about 28 to 50 inches. The Centaur Pegging Belt ($189.95) is a belt-style harness with the same 3-inch ring and nickel-free aluminum hardware. The Carmen Rivera ($234.95) is vegan leather with a built-in 3.1-inch ring plus 1.5 and 2.3 inch rings, takes suction cups and Vac-U-Lock, and has optional rings at 4.1 and 4.9 inches. Steel rings sell singly from $5.95 (2.5 inches) to $18.95 (5 inches). Every Hankey's dildo lists the ring it needs. The Perfect Penis takes a 2.5-inch ring in Small and Medium and a 3-inch ring from LG/XL up, the Atlas takes 2.5 inches in XS and 3 in Medium, and Hankey's lists no ring for its biggest sizes.
Doc Johnson's Vac-U-Lock harnesses hold a toy on a plug instead of a ring, so it can't slip, and they convert to an O-ring harness. The Ultra Harness ($46.99) fits waists from 25 to 53 inches, and the neoprene Platinum Luxe ($66.99), Supreme ($81.99, out of stock) and laced Corset ($90.99) fit up to 69. The catch is the toys. The Vac-U-Lock dildos we checked are ULTRASKYN, Doc Johnson's TPE, or PVC, not silicone. RealDoll's dildos fit the same plug, and so do Mr Hankey's with the Vac-U-Hole option. The Body Extensions line is the hollow kind, a silicone harness on an elastic waistband for waists from 28 to 48 inches, with hollow silicone shafts 1.6 inches wide inside before they stretch. The BE Strong (7.5 inches long, 1.75 wide) and BE Bold (8 inches, 2 wide) are $102.99 each, the bulbed BE Daring was $50.98 on sale ($89 at SheVibe), and all of them can go on the top rack of a dishwasher.
Lovehoney sells its harnesses through its own Amazon store. The Universal Strap On Harness ($32.99) is polychloroprene with rings at 1.25, 1.75 and 2 inches, a bullet pocket and straps for hips from 28 to 65 inches, and it goes in the washing machine. The Full Back version ($34.99) adds a padded back and fits 25 to 68 inches. The Dominix Deluxe Leather ($79.99) is a leather jock with a ring that adjusts from 1.5 to 2.4 inches, for waists from 34 to 46 inches, hand wash only. The Bondage Boutique leg harness ($22.99) straps a toy with a flared base to a thigh from 10 to 20 inches. For a strapless, the Desire Luxury ($114.99) is silicone with 12 speeds and rabbit ears for the wearer. Lovehoney's kits with two silicone dildos were unavailable on Amazon on October 30, and its Perfect Partner hollow strap-on is listed as PVC, so look at the silicone ones under Types instead.
NYTC's Signature Leather Harness ($129.99) is pebble-grain leather with matte black hardware, adjusts from 26 to 65 inches, and comes with metal rings at 1.5, 2 and 3 inches, so it takes bigger toys than most. Its Explorer vegan harness ($39.99 on sale, $69.99 list) is neoprene with a stabilizer for smaller toys, and NYTC adds it free to every order with a Shilo or Carter. The Shilo ($149.99) is a posable silicone dildo, 6.25 inches insertable and 1.5 wide, with a suction cup that comes off for a harness. The Carter ($169.99 on sale) is 7.25 inches and needs a 2-inch ring. A Shilo with the leather harness is $249.99. NYTC won't take back intimate items, and an unopened harness can go back within 24 hours of delivery for store credit, minus a 20% restocking fee and $20 for the label.
Lovense's Lapis ($129 on sale, $259 list) is a strapless strap-on with three motors that you or a partner control from the Lovense app, in the same room or in another city. It's silicone, 315 grams and IPX7, with a flexible neck and up to 156 minutes on a charge. Lovense sells a harness for it at $78, or $35 with a Lapis, and its sale prices move from week to week.

Two-strap harnesses are what most people should buy. The waistband carries the weight and the two straps under the buttocks hold the base flat against you, so the toy goes where your hips send it. They adjust to more bodies than anything else here and hold heavier toys. A jock like the Joque or the Pan leaves the back open. A single strap between the legs holds a toy less firmly than two.
Underwear harnesses are briefs or boxers with a ring sewn in. They're the comfiest kind, they go in the washing machine, and you can wear one all day, with a packer or a dildo. The trade-off is that they don't adjust, and a heavy toy moves more than it would in a two-strap. Order your exact size, because they run snug and many stores won't take them back once they're opened.
Thigh harnesses put the toy on a thigh, for riding a partner's leg or freeing your hands, and they need a toy with a Flared baseA base wider than the shaft, so the toy can't slip all the way in. Anything you use anally needs one. More in the glossary. Sportsheets' Ultra Thigh ($45.99) fits thighs from 17 to 32 inches.
Strapless strap-ons are one piece. A bulb goes inside the wearer and the shaft points out, so the wearer feels every thrust and there are no straps. The bulb is what holds it in, so some people wear one with a harness for support, and Lovense sells a harness made for its Lapis. Strap-On-Me's comes in four sizes, $91.99 to $126.99 at SheVibe. Fun Factory's Share Lite (€53.95) is one more, but its own shop ships only within Germany.
Hollow strap-ons fit over a penis. They suit a wearer who wants more length or girth, or one who wants to keep going without an erection. Check the opening, because Doc Johnson's Body Extensions are 1.6 inches wide inside before they stretch. Vac-U-Lock harnesses hold the toy on a plug instead of a ring. Swaps take seconds and nothing slips, but most Vac-U-Lock toys aren't silicone.

The ring decides what a harness can hold, and a wrong one is how a good harness ends up with a floppy toy. Measure the toy before you buy. The ring has to be at least as wide as the shaft, so the toy goes through, and narrower than the base, so the toy can't pull out. A ring much wider than the shaft lets the toy wobble, which is what a stabilizer fixes, a smaller ring that sits inside the big one. Mr Hankey's and Uberrime list the ring each of their dildos needs.

Read from each maker's page on October 30, 2026, or from SheVibe's, b-Vibe's and Stockroom's pages for Spareparts and Amazon's for Lovehoney. Makers measure rings differently. Vixen gives the inside diameter, Aslan gives both, and the rest don't say, so measure your toy against the ring you get.

Start with who's wearing it and what for. For pegging or a first time, go smaller than you think. The Silk Small in Tantus's kit is 0.8 inches across, and our anal training guide covers how to work up from there. For vaginal sex, pick a size you already know you like. A wearer who wants to feel something can slip a bullet into the pocket behind the ring on the Joque, the Tomboi or Tantus's kits, or skip the harness for a strapless.
Then pick the harness by body and budget. Leather holds a toy firmer and lasts for years, but it can't go in the washing machine. Nylon, neoprene and spandex cost less and wash easily, and they flex more. A two-strap harness adjusts to more bodies, and briefs are the comfiest but come in fixed sizes. For bigger bodies, Sportsheets' Curvy Divine fits hips from 28 to 82 inches and its Plush and Noire to 72, Doc Johnson's Vac-U-Lock harnesses fit waists to 69, b-Vibe's sets to 68, Lovehoney's Full Back 25 to 68, and the Joque in Size B 35 to 65. Last, the dildo. It should be Body-safe siliconePure silicone with no fillers. It's nonporous, so it cleans completely, and "platinum-cured" on the listing is the best sign you're getting the real thing. Leather wants a light touch. Mr Hankey's own harness care guide says to wipe it with a barely damp cloth and a little saddle soap, never soak it, condition it about once a month, let it dry slowly and store it flat out of the sun. Tantus suggests watered-down white vinegar or castile soap on a lint-free cloth. Vegan leather gets a damp cloth and hand soap, and Stockroom says to keep it away from heat.
Fabric harnesses are easier. Spareparts' harnesses, Lovehoney's polychloroprene ones and Sportsheets' Plush, Noire and Ultra Thigh can go in the washing machine. Mr Hankey's guide plays it safer, with a hand wash in pH-neutral soap and no bleach. Take the rings and any bullet out first.
The dildo is the easy part. Silicone without a motor can be boiled or put through the dishwasher, and Tantus and Doc Johnson both say so of theirs. Use water-based lube with silicone toys unless the maker says otherwise, because silicone lube can turn some silicone tacky.
