The ranking below sorts the machine makers by machine score, our rubric for sex machines alone: motion and build, range, attachments and materials, value, and warranty, returns and service. No machine has been in our house yet, so every number comes from what the makers publish. Under it are the six machines I'd shortlist, the specs side by side and how to set one up safely.

Part 2 of 9

The Short Version

None of these machines has been in our house yet. The scores come from what each maker publishes about its machines, its attachments, its warranty and what happens if you want to send one back, all read on the makers' own sites on October 29, 2026. That last part decides more than you'd think. A machine costs $339 to $1,949, most makers won't take a used one back, and the two saddle makers that will both keep a fee.

That's why Motorbunny comes out on top. Its Original ($999) is a saddle that rotates and vibrates, with an 11-year warranty and a 45-day trial that keeps $299 if it goes back. If you'd rather have a thruster, Hismith's Premium 4.0 (about $599) has the widest stroke for the money, and its Table Top 2.0 Pro (about $339) is the cheap one I'd still buy. The Lovense Sex Machine ($699 on sale) is for couples who live apart, the 7-pound Lovense Mini ($399 on sale) is the smallest and the only one here with an emergency stop, and the Motorbunny Buck ($1,549) is the saddle that also thrusts. My buying guide goes deeper on thruster against saddle.

Part 3 of 9

How We Evaluate Sex Machines

A machine can let you down in three ways. It can't move the way you want, which mostly comes down to stroke length and how slowly it starts. It only takes its maker's attachments. Or it breaks, and the maker won't take it back. So we look at stroke range and speed, the attachment standard and what's in the box, the warranty and the return terms, and the noise figure where a maker prints one.

Every maker on this list gets a machine score from five parts: motion and build (30%), machine range (20%), attachments and materials (15%), value (15%), and shipping, returns and service (20%). None of these machines has been tested in our house, so the scores rest on the makers' own specs and terms, read on October 29, 2026. When one arrives and survives a month, its score will say so. Scoring details on our testing page.

Part 4 of 9

The Makers, and What Each One Is For

Motorbunny: the saddle to buy

Prices $799–$1,649

Motorbunny makes the Original ($999, or $1,099 with a Vac-U-Lock bundle), a saddle with a rotating, vibrating top, four silicone attachments and the LINK Bluetooth controller for its Fluffer app. The Buck ($1,549, or $1,649) adds thrusting, with Thrust and G-Thrust settings and three silicone attachments that don't fit the Original or a Sybian. Since June 2025 it has also sold the Jack ($799, or $888 with a battery pack), a 6.8-pound handheld thruster.

Every machine gets an 11-year parts and labor warranty, and after five years a repair costs a flat $100. The 45-day trial refunds you minus a $299 storage and inspection fee, you pay the return shipping, and attachments can't go back. Its refund policy also says sale items can't be refunded, and both saddles were shown against higher struck-through prices on October 29, so ask Motorbunny whether the trial covers yours before you order. Shipping is free in the continental US, in a plain box. Our link takes $50 off a machine at checkout.

Hismith: the most thrusters for the money

Prices $339–$1,949

Hismith makes more thrusting machines than anyone, plus the cheaper Auxfun line, and every one uses its KlicLok quick-connect. Its store showed us kroner, at exactly 11 kroner to a round US price, so these are the US prices it lists. Table Top 2.0 Pro $339 (Max $369), Mini Pro $349, Premium 3.0 $429 to $549, Premium 4.0 $599 (Pro $659), Max $999, and the servo-driven Servok $1,799 (2.0 Pro $1,949). The Premium 4.0 runs 267 strokes a minute with a stroke from 1.3 to 5.03 inches. The Servok is listed at 600 strokes a minute, with a stroke you can change while it runs, and Hismith's own spec table calls it noisy.

All sales are final. Hismith refunds or replaces only defective machines that reach its warehouse within 30 days, damage on arrival has to be reported within 48 hours, and an order can be cancelled only in the first ten minutes. The warranty is one year on the machine and two on the motor. Its app's Google Play label lists phone number and sexual orientation among the data it may collect, as our app privacy guide shows.

Lovense: thrusters on the best app

Prices $399–$699

Lovense makes two thrusters and shows both against a list price twice as high. The Sex Machine ($699, $1,399 list) has two arms, so two people can use it at once, 300 strokes a minute, up to 4.5 inches of stroke, Vac-U-Lock mounts and a 25-pound frame, and Lovense lists it at 61 dB. Its page says two silicone dildos come with it, though its what's-included list doesn't show them, so check before you order. The Mini ($399, $799 list) weighs 7 pounds, has an emergency stop button, runs 260 strokes a minute with up to 3 inches of stroke and tops out at 60 dB.

Both run in the Lovense Remote app, the best long-distance platform there is. The warranty is one year, plus a 10-year quality guarantee that takes 55% off a new device after the first year.

Sybian: the original saddle

Prices $849–$1,495

The Sybian ($1,495) has been made in the USA since the 1980s. It comes with four C-Flex attachments, which Sybian says contain no latex, PVC, silicone, phthalates or polyurethane, so they aren't silicone either. Silicone ones are $59 each, or $49 with a Sybian. It has no app, weighs about 22 pounds and ships free in the US from "ABCO Research Associates".

The 45-day trial applies to orders from sybian.com and keeps a $175 return fee, the original shipping and the return shipping, and cancelling an order before it arrives costs 3%. The warranty is five years on the body and the working parts and 180 days on the cover and attachments, or lifetime for $195 more. In October 2026 Sybian added the Tremor ($849), with two silicone attachments, a pad that goes in the dishwasher, a dial remote, a 30-day trial and a 10-year warranty.

F-Machine: British-built, priced in pounds

Prices £499–£995

F-Machine builds its thrusters in the UK and sells them in pounds, with no US store of its own. The Gigolo BT-R (£499) has a 40-watt motor, up to 240 RPM, a 1 to 4 inch stroke set by swapping the crank, Bluetooth, a remote, and now an 8-inch silicone dildo in the box. The Pro4 (£675) steps up to 280 RPM and a 1 to 6 inch stroke, and the new Alpha (£995) changes depth while it runs. The warranty is one year, back to base, so you pay to ship it to them, and unused machines can go back within 14 days.

The Cowgirl: a strong saddle, final sale

Prices $88–$1,450

The Cowgirl Premium ($1,450 on sale, $1,750 list) is a saddle with 6,500 RPM vibration and rotation, the CG app and a corded remote, two silicone attachments and a 400-pound rating. Its own page puts the noise at 98 dB from ten inches, which is lawnmower territory, and says all sales are final. The warranty is 12 months, then 50% off any COTR product. COTR also makes b-Vibe and Le Wand, and both of those stores had the Cowgirl at the same $1,450 that day. The same store sells the Thrust Rider ($349.30 on sale), which you ride like a saddle and which thrusts up to 4 inches.

Part 6 of 9

How to Choose a Sex Machine

Pick the shape first. A thruster moves a dildo back and forth at a speed and depth you set, and it's the one for depth and rhythm. A saddle is a box you sit on with a rotating, vibrating top, and it's the one for strong vibration with no effort from the rider. If you want both, the Buck does both for $1,549. The buying guide covers the difference in detail.

Then compare stroke range before anything else. A machine that goes from about 1.3 inches to 5 can do short and fast one night and long and slow the next. Budget $100 to $200 a year for attachments, and assume you can't send it back unless it's a Motorbunny or a Sybian, which both keep a fee, or an unused F-Machine within 14 days.

Part 7 of 9

Setting One Up Safely

Keep the controller in your hand, or your partner's, every time. The Lovense Mini is the only machine here with an emergency stop button, and on everything else the stop is whatever control you're holding. Start at the slowest speed and the shortest stroke. A machine doesn't feel resistance, and it can go from nothing to full speed in a second.

Set the depth with the machine off. Position yourself, move the frame so the full stroke stops short of your limit, then turn it on. Put a thruster on a rug or its anti-skid feet, because a light one walks across a hard floor at speed, and put padding under a saddle for the floor and for anyone living below you.

Buy silicone attachments, and skip TPE (thermoplastic elastomer)A soft, cheap material used for most stroker sleeves. It's porous, so it can't be fully sanitized, and a sleeve lasts about a year of regular use. More in the glossary, PVC and C-Flex for anything that goes inside. Use water-based lube with silicone attachments unless the maker says its silicone can take silicone lube. Our body-safe materials guide explains why.

Part 8 of 9

What to Skip

  • 3XLR machines, the three-pin connector on Hismith's Auxfun line (about $89 to $159) and on Amazon generics. Hismith itself says the connector isn't suited to heavy attachments, and the toys bundled at that level are often TPE or PVC.
  • Ordering a machine you can't return without reading its terms. Hismith and The Cowgirl take nothing back except defects.
  • Changing the stroke while the machine runs, except on the Servok, which is built for it.
  • TPE, PVC or C-Flex attachments for anything that goes inside.
  • Buying on the struck-through price. Lovense, Motorbunny and The Cowgirl all show their machines against a higher crossed-out price, so judge each one at the price you pay.

Part 9 of 9

Frequently asked questions

What is the best sex machine?

Motorbunny's Original ($999), a saddle that rotates and vibrates, with an 11-year warranty and a 45-day trial. For a thruster, Hismith's Premium 4.0 (about $599) has the widest stroke for the money, its Table Top 2.0 Pro (about $339) is the cheap one, and the Lovense Sex Machine ($699 on sale) is the one for long distance. None of them has been tested in our house yet, so these picks rest on the makers' own specs and terms.

What is the best sex machine for beginners?

Hismith's Table Top 2.0 Pro (about $339) or the Lovense Mini Sex Machine ($399 on sale). Both are compact, both have an adjustable stroke, and the Lovense has an emergency stop button. Either one tells you whether you like machines without a $1,000 lesson. Start at the slowest speed and the shortest stroke, with the controller in your hand.

Sybian or Motorbunny?

Motorbunny, on the numbers. The Original is $999 to $1,099 against the Sybian's $1,495, with an 11-year warranty against five and an app the Sybian doesn't have. Both have a 45-day trial with a fee, $299 at Motorbunny, $175 plus the shipping at Sybian. The Sybian is the original, made in the USA, and its new Tremor ($849) is the cheapest saddle from either.

Hismith or Lovense sex machine?

Hismith for the most machines and attachments and the widest stroke for the money. The Premium 4.0 (about $599) is the one to get. Lovense if your partner already runs your toys from another city. The Sex Machine ($699 on sale) and the Mini ($399) live in the Lovense app, and Lovense adds a 10-year quality guarantee, 55% off a new device after the first year.

How much does a sex machine cost?

From about $339 for Hismith's Table Top 2.0 Pro to about $1,949 for its Servok 2.0 Pro. Lovense's two are $399 and $699 on sale, and the saddles run from $849 (Sybian's Tremor) to $1,649 (the Motorbunny Buck with Vac-U-Lock). Budget another $100 to $200 a year for attachments.

Are sex machines loud?

Yes. Lovense lists 60 dB at most for the Mini and 61 dB for the Sex Machine, about conversation volume, and that's the quietest any maker commits to. Hismith's own spec table calls the Servok noisy, and The Cowgirl's page admits 98 dB from ten inches away. Plan on any of them being heard through a closed door, and on a saddle sending vibration through the floor.

Can you return a sex machine?

Usually not. Hismith and The Cowgirl say all sales are final, apart from defects. Motorbunny gives you 45 days minus a $299 fee, Sybian 45 days minus a $175 fee and the shipping, its Tremor a 30-day trial, and F-Machine takes back unused machines within 14 days. Treat any other machine as yours for good.

What's the difference between KlicLok and Vac-U-Lock?

Vac-U-Lock is the old open standard used by Lovense, F-Machine and many dildo makers, with a huge catalog of compatible toys and a slightly fiddly fit. KlicLok is Hismith's own quick-connect, faster to swap, but you buy Hismith's attachments or its adapters. Skip 3XLR, the three-pin connector on budget machines.
