The short version
The Toy Slut is run by Sasha and Daniel, a couple in their 30s. We test sex toys and write honest reviews. The site contains affiliate links: when you click through and buy, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
Affiliate commissions never affect scores, rankings, or recommendations. Paid placements on this site are limited to clearly labeled advertisements and sponsored content, and none of them buy a score.
Where our products come from
Most products covered on this site we own personally. Some are review samples sent by brands. Either way, scores reflect what we actually experienced over weeks of testing. Sample status never changes a score, and when a product was provided by a brand we'll say so in the review.
We don't pre-approve drafts with brands. We don't take payment for coverage. If a brand sends a product and we think it's mediocre, we say so — and we've done it.
How affiliate links work
Some links on this site go through affiliate programs (Lovense, Aneros, Womanizer, Awin partners, and others). When you click one and buy something, a cookie tracks that you came from The Toy Slut. If you make a purchase, we get a small commission. You never pay more by using our links.
Every "Visit Store" button on every review includes an "Affiliate link" label directly beneath it, in line with FTC guidelines.
Editorial independence
No brand has ever paid for a score, a ranking position or a recommendation on this site. Brands can pay for labeled advertising and for a sponsored review slot; the score in a sponsored review is decided exactly the way every other score is, and the review says at the top that the slot was paid for. You can read exactly how we test and score. When a product is bad, we say it's bad — even if the brand has a generous affiliate program.
Some of our top-ranked stores have no affiliate program at all. Some stores with the most generous commissions get mediocre scores. The scoring framework is the same for every product, sample or not, affiliate or not.
FTC compliance
In compliance with the Federal Trade Commission's endorsement guidelines, we disclose all material connections with brands: affiliate relationships at the link level, review samples at the review level, and the overall site policy on this page.
Brand partnerships
We accept review samples from brands and run affiliate links with retailers and direct programs. We sell clearly labeled display advertising and sponsored review slots (guaranteed publication, independent score, labeled at the top).
