Sasha & Daniel
The couple behind The Toy Slut
We're Sasha and Daniel, married, living in a house with a Samoyed called Bear. Between us we handle most of what shows up on this site.
Why this site exists
The honest version: in late 2025 I (Daniel) got laid off from my main job and started freelancing as a frontend developer. At the same time, our sex life was coming out of a slower stretch into something a lot more fun. Having unexpected time and actual enthusiasm in the same place felt like an opportunity, mostly because what we were finding online when we shopped for toys ourselves was mediocre at best. Sasha didn't take much convincing.
Meet Sasha

I cover the categories where my body is the relevant data point: vibrators, dildos, clitoral toys, lube. I write the way I think about these things, which means direct, occasionally profane, and uninterested in pretending a $200 toy is automatically better than a $30 one when it isn't. The Satisfyer versus LELO comparison is the obvious example of that.
When I'm not testing or writing I'm probably at a café drinking a latte and eating a pastry, which is the part of every week I look forward to most. Otherwise I'm scrolling TikTok next to Daniel while he watches another true crime documentary.
Meet Daniel

I run the technical side of the site (frontend developer for a living, so the stack made sense) and cover male toys and prostate gear in the reviews. My writing is drier than Sasha's. I spend more time on the case for the runner-up before declining it.
Outside the site, most of my non-work time goes to the gym and true crime documentaries on YouTube. Sasha has stopped pretending she finds the documentaries interesting and just scrolls TikTok next to me through them.
Bear
Bear, our Samoyed, has decided that every package arriving at the door is for him. He materializes in the kitchen the moment a box hits the table, sniffs it with great care, and looks personally betrayed when the contents turn out to be very obviously not for dogs.
How we work together
The split is anatomy plus inclination. Sasha tests what makes sense for her body, Daniel tests what makes sense for his, and couples products get both of us. We currently plan testing sessions pretty carefully. There's a list, the boxes go in a particular drawer, and we try not to start a new product before we've finished writing about the last one.
We disagree about products sometimes. When we do, the review shows the split rather than averaging it into a fake consensus. Daniel hasn't found a vibrating cock ring he thinks is worth keeping yet, for example. Sasha is more open to the category. The search continues.
Why you should trust us
We don't take payment for reviews and we don't run sponsored placements. Some products on the site we own personally, others are samples sent by brands, and we say in the review which is which. The scoring framework is the same regardless of where the product came from. When something isn't worth the money, the review reflects that, even when the brand has a generous affiliate program we would otherwise prefer to keep happy.

How we make money
Affiliate links. When you click a link to a store and buy something, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects scores or recommendations. Several of our top-ranked stores have no affiliate program at all. Read the full breakdown on the disclosure page, and the brand collaboration policy on the partnerships page.
Contact
Email reaches both of us at sasha@thetoyslut.com, or use the contact form. We read everything. We don't accept payment for reviews, but we're happy to talk.
