Platinum-cure (addition-cure) silicone uses a platinum catalyst to cross-link the polymer chains. This produces a purer, more stable, and less reactive material than tin-cure (condensation-cure) silicone. Platinum-cure silicone has no byproducts during curing, doesn't shrink, and has virtually no odor. It's the same process used for medical implants and food-grade molds. All premium sex toy brands use platinum-cure silicone. Tin-cure silicone is cheaper but can inhibit platinum-cure silicone if the two touch during curing — which is why you should never store different silicone toys touching each other.
