Water-based lubricant is the safest choice for sex toy use because it's compatible with every material: silicone, TPE, glass, steel, latex condoms, everything. It feels natural, cleans up with just water, and won't stain sheets. The trade-off is longevity — water-based lube absorbs into skin and dries out, requiring reapplication during longer sessions. Look for formulas without glycerin (feeds yeast), parabens, or propylene glycol (common irritant). Sliquid H2O and Good Clean Love Almost Naked are the go-to recommendations. For anal use, choose a thicker water-based formula specifically designed for anal play — thinner formulas dry out too quickly.
