Silicone-based lubricant lasts dramatically longer than water-based because it doesn't absorb into skin or wash away with water. A few drops last an entire session. It's excellent for anal play, shower sex, and skin-on-skin intercourse. The critical limitation: silicone lube can degrade silicone toys. The lube's silicone molecules bond with the toy's surface silicone, causing it to become sticky, rough, and pitted over time. This reaction can happen after a single use. If you own silicone toys (and most people do), keep silicone lube away from them. Überlube is the most popular premium silicone lube. It's also safe with condoms and non-silicone toys (glass, steel, TPE).
