Most vibrating toys come with multiple vibration patterns: steady, pulsing, escalating, wave, heartbeat, and various combinations. Premium brands offer 8-12+ patterns; budget toys usually have 3-5. Here's the reality: research and user surveys consistently show that most people find their preferred steady speed and stay there. Patterns are fun to try but rarely the reason you buy a toy. The exception is app-controlled toys (Lovense, We-Vibe) where a partner controls the pattern remotely — that's a different dynamic entirely. When evaluating a toy, focus on the quality and range of steady vibration settings rather than counting how many patterns it has. Ten bad patterns are worth less than three good steady speeds.
