Rumbly vs Buzzy
The two types of vibration quality — rumbly (deep, powerful) is generally preferred over buzzy (surface, tingling).
"Rumbly" vibrations are low-frequency, deep, and penetrating — they feel like the motor is pushing through tissue. "Buzzy" vibrations are high-frequency, surface-level, and tingling — they can cause numbness faster and feel less satisfying. The difference comes from motor quality and weight. Cheap toys use small, light motors that spin fast (buzzy). Premium toys use heavier, weighted motors that spin slower but with more force (rumbly). The We-Vibe Tango X is the gold standard for rumbly. Most toys under $30 are buzzy. A few budget exceptions exist: Satisfyer manages decent rumble at low prices. When reading reviews, "rumbly" is almost always a compliment and "buzzy" is almost always a criticism.
