Sliquid vs Uberlube

THE VERDICT

Buy Sliquid H2O first, because it works with every toy you own. Add Uberlube second, for the sex that doesn't involve silicone toys. Uberlube made one silicone formula and made it so thin and smooth that people reorganized their nightstands around it; it also can't touch a silicone toy, and at $20-25 for 50ml, casual reapplication stings. Sliquid makes a whole clean-ingredient range, H2O water-based, Sassy for anal, Silk hybrid, Silver silicone. Sliquid's Silver is good but not Uberlube. Uberlube can't do what Sliquid H2O does. Most nightstands end up with both, and that's the right answer.

PROS & CONS

SLIQUID
PROS
Zero glycerin, zero parabens, zero propylene glycol across the entire lineup
H2O is the cleanest water-based formula I've found at any price point
Sassy is thick enough for anal without feeling like craft glue
Silk hybrid gives you the best of both worlds: silicone slickness with water-based cleanup
CONS
Water-based formulas (H2O, Sassy) need reapplication more often than competitors
Premium pricing compared to drugstore brands, especially the Organics line
Silver silicone lube is good but not the top of the class against Überlube or Swiss Navy
Bottle design on the smaller sizes is plain and feels like it belongs in a pharmacy
UBERLUBE
PROS
Formula is so thin and smooth it feels like your body just decided to cooperate for once
Glass pump bottle looks like it belongs in a Scandinavian design magazine, not a nightstand drawer
Doubles as a legitimately good hair serum and anti-frizz product (not a gimmick)
Three ingredients plus vitamin E, zero glycerin, zero parabens, condom-safe across the board
CONS
Glass bottle in a wet shower is a shattered ankle waiting to happen
Cannot be used with silicone toys, which rules out half of most people's collections
One product, one formula, one size philosophy means no water-based option if you need it
Premium pricing at $20-25 for 50ml makes casual reapplication feel expensive

WHO SHOULD BUY WHICH

BUY SLIQUID IF
  • You've ever had a yeast infection, UTI, or irritation after using lube and want to eliminate the most likely cause
  • You use silicone toys regularly and need a water-based lube that won't damage them
  • Clean, pronounceable ingredients are a priority and you're tired of reading chemistry labels
BUY UBERLUBE IF
  • You want the best-feeling silicone lube on the market and are willing to pay for it
  • Your toy collection is mostly glass, steel, or hard plastic (no silicone compatibility issues)
  • You'd love a single product that handles lube, hair frizz, skin care, and anti-chafe duties

QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK

Is Uberlube better than Sliquid?

As a silicone lube, yes. Uberlube's formula is thinner and smoother than Sliquid Silver. As a brand, Sliquid covers more needs with H2O, Sassy and Silk, all of which are safe with silicone toys.

Can you use Uberlube with silicone toys?

No. Uberlube is silicone-based and will degrade silicone toys. Use Sliquid H2O, Sassy or Silk (a hybrid that's toy-safe) for anything silicone.

Which is cheaper?

Sliquid. Uberlube runs $20-25 for 50ml, though a bottle lasts months because you need so little. Sliquid's water-based bottles cost less per ounce but need reapplying more often.
