The short answer

Buy the impact gear here, in one order over $150 if you can. Get your cuffs from Stockroom, and budget for US duties.

How it scored

  • Build & Safety6.5Cow leather on the main lines, but no leather thickness, lining or hardware grade given
  • Kink Range8.0About 80 collars, 33 floggers and 26 paddles, most in matching lines
  • Materials & Honest Listings6.0Sold as Japanese leather, no leather product says where it's made, and PU lines carry leather names
  • Value7.0Leather impact gear about 40% under Stockroom, less once $25 shipping and duties land
  • Shipping, Returns & Service4.5Ships from Japan with US duties on you, no warranty, two returns pages that disagree

What's good

  • Cow leather impact gear for about 40% less than Stockroom's, like a $42.95 paddle and a $45.95 flogger
  • A catalog of 509 products, mostly in matching lines, so cuffs, a collar and a paddle can share one color
  • Specs on most listings, with weights, widths and adjustment ranges in centimeters
  • Safety notes on 162 product pages, covering limits, safe words, quick release and circulation checks
  • DHL Express, about five working days to North America, and free shipping over $150
  • Plain packaging with no logo and a person's name as the sender

What's not

  • Orders ship from Japan, and customs fees and import taxes are yours, at amounts the store doesn't estimate
  • $25 shipping under $150, which eats most of the saving on a single piece
  • Sold as Japanese leather, but no leather product says where it's made
  • No warranty, and two returns pages that disagree, one of them asking for packaging the store swaps out before shipping
  • The Black Bond line is a recycled-leather mix and several lines are PU, so the material line matters more than the name
  • A thin record, with 25 reviews in the store's own app and none on Trustpilot

Bottom line: Liebe Seele sells cow leather impact gear for about 40% less than Stockroom charges for its own, in matching lines wide enough to dress a whole scene in one color. Everything around the leather costs it points. Orders ship from Japan with US duties on you, no leather piece says where it was made, there's no warranty, and its two returns pages disagree. Good for one planned order of paddles and floggers, and the wrong place for cuffs or a first kit.

Liebe Seele sells leather kink gear from a company in Wakayama, Japan, and it sells a lot of it. The US store listed 509 products when I read the catalog on October 25, 2026, from an $11.95 three-piece pocket kit to an $810.95 leather saddle harness, and most of what matters is cow leather. On paddles, floggers and spreader bars, its prices sit well under what Stockroom charges for its own leather in Los Angeles, and three of its pieces are picks on our BDSM rankings.

This is a curator's profile. Daniel and I haven't used anything from Liebe Seele, so you won't find a line here about how a strap feels. What's below comes from the store's own catalog and policies, the company registries in Japan and Spain, and what buyers have posted, which isn't much. Where something couldn't be confirmed, I say so.

We earn a commission when you buy through our Liebe Seele links, which is one more reason to put the costs up front. Orders ship from Japan by DHL Express, shipping is $25 under $150, and the store says customs fees and import taxes are yours. There's no warranty, its two returns pages disagree, and no leather product says where it was made. None of that is a reason to skip the leather, but it should change how you order.

The Catalog and the Material Line

The lines aren't all the same material, and the names don't tell you which is which.

About 80 collars, 38 listings of wrist cuffs and 33 of ankle cuffs, 33 floggers, 29 crops, 26 paddles and 12 spreader bars. Most of it comes in named lines that match from blindfold to leash, so a whole scene can share one color. Cerulean Dominion is blue leather with silver hardware, Dark Secret is black with gold, and Wine Red comes with rose gold.

The lines aren't all the same material, and the names don't tell you which is which. By the product descriptions, Dark Secret, Wine Red, Cerulean Dominion, Samurai, Warrior Princess, Angel's Kiss and Demon's Kiss are cow leather, and Fairy and Siren's Cove are lamb. Black Bond, the budget line, is "a mix of recycled leather and fabric," 50% recycled by the store's count. Vegan Fetish, Dark Candy, Victorian Garden, Boudoir Amor and Metallic Shade are PU, a plastic made to look like leather. PU does fine as a blindfold and peels in time as a cuff, so read the material line in the specs before you look at the price.

Thirty-seven product titles say "Italian." The Italian Dark Red cuffs page doesn't say where the leather comes from, so I'd read the word as part of the name.

The specs give weights, widths and adjustment ranges in centimeters, and they stop short of what a leather buyer checks first. No cuff or collar lists a leather thickness, and the Samurai line is sold as "thick cowhide" with no figure. Only 50 of the 509 descriptions call the hardware nickel-free, which matters if nickel makes your skin itch, and the Dark Secret and Samurai specs just say metal or copper-plated. The Italian and Blood Red cuffs are lined with sheepskin. The Dark Secret, Wine Red and Samurai cuffs name no lining.

Listings that say so. The rest don't say either way.

Safety copy is one of the store's strengths. On 162 product pages there's a Use, Care & FAQ section, and the ones I read ask for agreed limits, a safe word or signal, quick-release access and frequent circulation checks, and say to stop at numbness or tingling. The under-mattress system's page adds "never leave a restrained person unattended," which is on our list too.

One corner of the catalog I'd leave alone entirely. Eleven listings, from $45.95 to $227.95, connect a collar to the wrists, and we don't recommend tying a collar to wrists or a bed, because a struggle turns into a pull on the neck. The 25 hogtie connectors are for a position our bondage guide tells beginners to skip for now, and the 37 gags can wait until you have a signal that works without a voice.

The Three We Pick, and a First Order

The paddle is the one I'd buy first. The Cerulean Dominion paddle is blue cow leather with a wrist loop, 3.3 inches wide and 13.1 inches long without the loop, and it weighs 153 grams, about 5 ounces, for $42.95. Width is what you want on a first paddle, because a wide face spreads the impact and is hard to land in the wrong place. I lean sub, so the width of a paddle matters more to me than its color. The Dark Secret Dual Sensation paddle is cheaper at $34.95, but it's 2.3 inches wide, with a split leather side the store says delivers "a satisfying sting with an audible crack." Narrow and split means sting, and that's one for later.

Before any of it, use your hand. Warm up with light, slow strokes for a few minutes and aim for the sit spot, the lower curve where the butt meets the thigh. Our starter kit guide has the rest of the impact basics.

The Cerulean Dominion flogger is cow leather, 52 centimeters (about 20 inches) end to end and 177 grams, about 6 ounces, for $45.95. The brand's Demon's Kiss and Crocodile Noir floggers weigh 91 and 100 grams, so this one carries nearly twice the leather, and heavier falls lean toward thud, the deep-massage end of flogging. Dark Secret's heavy flogger only adds 17 grams and costs $125.95. The listing doesn't give the number or length of the falls. Practice on a pillow until the tips land where you aim. Wrap, where the tips curl around the side of the body and land on ribs or a hip, is the classic beginner mark.

A spreader bar holds the ankles apart, and it's the restraint I'd add once cuffs feel easy. The Dark Secret bar is metal covered in black cow leather, 50 centimeters (19.7 inches) long and 2 centimeters thick, with what the store calls quick-release O rings at each end, for $45.95. The listing gives one length and no adjustment, and the bar comes without cuffs, so you'll need ankle cuffs with D-rings. Its own page says to test the cuffs, clips and bar position before the scene, to avoid angles that strain knees, hips or the lower back, and to stop for numbness, tingling or panic. Keep the first sessions short, check the feet the way you'd check hands, and keep trauma shears by the bed.

Note

Leather can't be fully disinfected. A paddle or flogger that has touched blood stays with that one person. The care notes on these pages (wipe with a soft dry cloth, keep it away from water, heat and sunlight, store it flat) keep the leather in shape, and they don't change that.

Together the three come to $134.85, which is $15.15 under the free-shipping line. Pay the $25 and they're $159.85 before customs. If you don't own ankle cuffs with D-rings, the bar needs a pair anyway, and the Cerulean Dominion ankle cuffs ($58.95, with D-rings and a detachable chain) take the order to $193.80 with free shipping. Ask the store about fit before you order, since its sizing numbers need a second look. The matching blindfold is the cheaper way over the line. At $26.95 it brings the order to $161.80, $1.95 more than paying for shipping, though it's a leather band 7.7 centimeters wide with no padding listed, and I'd rather have a blindfold shaped around the nose.

Cuffs, Collars and the Under-Bed Kit

For cuffs, the math runs the other way. Stockroom makes lined, lockable leather cuffs in Los Angeles from $44 a pair. Liebe Seele's cow leather cuffs cost more, from $55.95 for the sheepskin-lined Italian Dark Red, $56.95 for Cerulean Dominion and $57.95 for Samurai up to $80.95 for Dark Secret and Wine Red, before shipping and duties. The $45.95 Black Bond pair is the recycled-leather mix.

  6. Wine Red, narrow$75.95

  7. Dark Secret or Wine Red$80.95

Liebe Seele's cow leather cuffs start above Stockroom's lined, lockable pairs.

Prices read on liebeseele.com, October 25, 2026, before shipping and duties. Stockroom's from our Stockroom review.

Size them with care. The Dark Secret and Wine Red listings give an adjustable range of 21 to 31 centimeters and say the cuffs fit wrists from 14 to 24 centimeters (5.5 to 9.5 inches), so on those two your wrist is about 7 centimeters smaller than the strap. On the narrow Wine Red pair ($75.95) the gap is closer to 9. Many listings give only the range, and the Italian Dark Red pair adjusts from 22 to 29.5 while it's listed for wrists from 10 to 26. The store's cuff and collar sizing guides, posted in August 2026, give no measurements at all. Measure your wrists and ankles and email the store the numbers before you order, because sending a wrong size back is hard.

Once they're on, the usual rules apply. Two fingers should slide between cuff and wrist, and panic snaps should clip them to anything else, because a panic snap opens while someone is pulling on it and a carabiner under load often won't.

The collars follow the cuffs on price. Cerulean Dominion's comes with a chain leash for $53.95, Dark Secret's for $74.95, and the Wine Red deluxe curved collar with a lock is $86.95, while Stockroom's own collars start at $20. A collar is for the look and the feeling of wearing one. It's never an anchor point, so nothing connects it to the wrists or the bed, and a leash is for leading, never for pulling.

The under-mattress system comes first when you sort the store by best-selling, and it's the one thing here I'd tell a beginner to skip. It's $36.95 in silver, gold or rose gold hardware, with four clips and no cuffs, and the listing names no materials and no strap lengths. Sportsheets' Bed Bondage Restraint Kit is $41.99 with four soft cuffs on 60-inch adjustable straps. Its Under the Bed Restraint System, $73.99, fits wrists and ankles from 4 to 12 inches and carries a limited lifetime warranty. My first restraint kit was a Sportsheets set, and I'd still start a beginner there.

Shipping, Duties and Returns

Returns are where the store contradicts itself.

DHL Express carries every order. The shipping page quotes five working days to North America and $25, free over $150, and says weekday orders placed before 2 p.m. Central European Time usually ship the same day. Packaging is plain. Long items like crops go in a brown box and small ones in a brown envelope marked "--- accessory," with no logo and a person's name as the sender.

The line a US buyer should read twice is on the product pages. Retail orders ship from Japan, the original packaging is swapped for a velvet pouch "to avoid customs issues and high duties," and "any customs clearance fees and import taxes are the buyer's responsibility." The store doesn't estimate what they'll be. Since August 29, 2025, packages worth $800 or less no longer enter the US duty-free, whatever country they come from, and US Customs' e-commerce FAQ still calls that suspension indefinite. So even a single $42.95 paddle can come with a charge on top, and the store won't tell you the amount in advance.

Returns are where the store contradicts itself. The refund policy, last updated July 10, 2025, gives you 14 calendar days from the day the package arrives. The returns page in the footer talks about returns within "a specified period (e.g., 30 days)" from the shipping date, and only for items that are unopened. Both want the item unused, and the refund policy also wants every original tag, label and piece of packaging, which you won't have, because the retail box was swapped for the pouch before it left Japan. To start a return you email info@graceland.co.jp, wait 5 to 7 business days for a return address, and ship it back tracked at your own cost. The original shipping isn't refunded, there are no exchanges, and custom, clearance and sale items are final.

Return window

14 days

From delivery, per the refund policy. The footer page says about 30 from shipping.

Warranty

None

The terms sell everything "as is."

Defects stand on firmer ground. Report a damaged, faulty or "significantly not as described" item within 14 days of receiving it, with photos or video, and they'll replace it or refund you at no cost. After that there's nothing. The store offers no warranty, and its terms sell everything "as is."

Support runs through email and a contact form. The US site lists no phone number, and its chat window opens with a note that nobody is available and someone will reply later.

Warning

Open the package the day it arrives and check every buckle, rivet and stitch in good light. Keep the velvet pouch and every tag, and don't use anything until you know it's staying, because the 14 days start at delivery.

“I'd plan one order over $150, check every buckle the day it lands, and keep the velvet pouch until I was sure everything was staying.”

Who's Behind It, and the Reviews

The buyer record is thin.

Liebe Seele has a registered company behind it, and the paper trail is easy to follow. Grace Land Co., Ltd. was registered in Wakayama, Japan, in March 2016. Its company page on the Japanese store names its representative director and lists its business as leather goods made and sold in Japan and abroad, import and export, wholesale of imported goods and online sales. Grace Land's own website says it makes its own products and OEM products for other companies. The director's name is also the sender name on DHL shipments and the byline on the US blog. The US store is run jointly with Cherrycom Worldwide SL, a single-member company in Getafe, Madrid, incorporated in September 2020 with management consultancy as its registered activity, and Spanish law governs the store's terms. In Japan the brand has a separate yen store and lists about 40 adult shops that stock it.

Two parts of the brand's story are harder to pin down. The About page says Liebe Seele was "inspired by contemporary intimate culture in Germany and Europe" in 2012, four years before Grace Land and the liebeseele.com domain were registered in 2016. The page doesn't say what happened in between.

The other is where the leather is made. The store's home page is titled "Premium Japanese Leather BDSM Gear," and the About page talks about Japanese leather craftsmanship and says the work is "rooted in Wakayama, Japan." None of the 509 product descriptions on the US store says where a leather product is made, and none of the 305 on the Japanese store does either. The two origin lines I found both say China. The back of the box for the X-Rose three-row Wartenberg pinwheel reads "Designed and Developed in Japan. Manufactured in China." over Grace Land's Wakayama address, and a $16.95 handcuffs pendant choker lists China as where it's made. With the OEM work and the wholesale of imported goods on top, none of this says where a given paddle was cut, and the store doesn't either. If it matters to you, ask before you order. Made in China is no mark against a toy, and plenty of good gear is made there. What I'd want is a store that sells "Japanese leather" to say where its leather is made.

Store reviews

25

In the store's own review app, 23 of them five stars.

The buyer record is thin. The store's review app holds 25 product reviews and 2 shop reviews, all marked as verified buyers and dated June 2023 to September 2026, and 23 of the product reviews give five stars. The two low ones are about a Dark Candy blindfold that was too small and magnetic nipple clamps that were too weak. None of them showed up on the product pages I looked at. Trustpilot has an unclaimed page with no reviews. On Amazon US, three old Liebe Seele listings are still up but unavailable. Two rattan canes have 34 and 93 ratings, at 3.9 and 4.2 stars, and a brown leather paddle has a single one-star rating. A web search turns up no forum threads about the brand.

Twenty-seven reviews say little either way, and they leave you leaning on the product pages, which is where the gaps are.

“The company is in Wakayama, and the store calls its gear Japanese leather. Where a given cuff was made is something you'd have to ask them.”

Liebe Seele vs. Stockroom and Sportsheets

On impact gear, that's about 40% less, as long as the order clears $150 and the duties stay small.

Against Stockroom, the split is clean. Stockroom's in-house leather team in Los Angeles makes an 18-inch leather flogger for $75 and a leather-wrapped spreader bar for $74.50 that adjusts from 25 to 37 inches and breaks down into three parts. Liebe Seele's flogger and bar are $45.95 each, and its paddle is $42.95 against the $79 leather paddle in our Stockroom review, which was sold out when I looked. On impact gear, that's about 40% less, as long as the order clears $150 and the duties stay small. Cuffs and collars go Stockroom's way. Its lined, lockable cuffs start at $44 a pair and its collars at $20, it says where they're made, and nothing has to clear customs.

Against Sportsheets, for anyone new, Sportsheets wins easily. Its two under-mattress kits come with cuffs at $41.99 and $73.99, they come from a California company, and the pricier one carries a limited lifetime warranty. A pair of Liebe Seele's cow leather cuffs costs more than that whole first kit, and nothing at Liebe Seele comes with a warranty.

Lovehoney undercuts both on impact, with wide faux leather paddles around $25. That's the cheaper way to find out whether you like being paddled at all, before any leather gets involved.

Who should buy from Liebe Seele?

It's the wrong store for a first restraint kit.

Buy here if you've done the beginner phase and know you like impact. A wide paddle, a heavier flogger and a spreader bar in one order is what this store does best, and the matching lines mean the set looks like it belongs together.

Color is the other reason to shop here. If you're tired of black leather, the blue Cerulean Dominion line with its silver hardware is where I'd look first.

It's the wrong store for a first restraint kit. Start with Sportsheets or our bondage guide, find out what you like, and come back. It's also wrong if you want to know where your leather was made, if you need a warranty or an easy return, or if you're buying one $40 piece, because $25 shipping and possible duties eat most of the saving.

Sasha

Sasha's verdict

6.4

out of 10 · how we score

I'd order the paddle, and I'd put the flogger and the spreader bar in the same order. Three pieces of cow leather impact gear for $134.85 cost less than Stockroom charges for its flogger and spreader bar together, and the specs tell you what you're getting in grams and centimeters.

Everything around the leather is where Liebe Seele loses points. Orders ship from Japan, and the duties are yours at an amount nobody quotes in advance. The store sells its gear as Japanese leather and no leather product says where it's made. The returns rules contradict each other and ask for packaging the store removes before shipping, there's no warranty, and the buyer record is 25 reviews in the store's own app.

None of that tells you anything about the leather itself, which I haven't held. It makes Liebe Seele a store for people who know what they want, place one order over $150, and check everything the day it arrives. Bought that way, its leather impact gear is good value. For cuffs or a first kit, Stockroom and Sportsheets are closer to home, and our BDSM rankings have the rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Liebe Seele legit?

It's a real business. Grace Land Co., Ltd., a company registered in Wakayama, Japan, in 2016, runs the store with a Spanish partner, ships by DHL Express, and lists about 40 adult shops in Japan that stock the brand. What's thin is the record around it. There are 25 product reviews in the store's own app and none on Trustpilot, there's no warranty, and no leather product says where it's made. Buy knowing that, and check everything the day it arrives.

Where is Liebe Seele based?

In Wakayama, Japan. Grace Land Co., Ltd. runs the US store together with Cherrycom Worldwide SL in Spain, and orders ship from Japan. The brand describes its work as "rooted in Wakayama, Japan," but no leather product page says where it's made, so ask the store if that matters to you.

Does Liebe Seele ship discreetly?

Yes, by its shipping page. There's no logo, long items go in a plain brown box and small ones in a brown envelope marked "--- accessory," and the sender is a person's name. DHL Express takes about five working days to North America, $25 under $150 and free above it. The retail box is swapped for a velvet pouch, and customs fees and import taxes are yours to pay.

What is Liebe Seele's return policy?

Its refund policy gives 14 calendar days from delivery for unused items with all original tags and packaging, and its footer returns page says about 30 days from shipping for unopened items, so plan on the shorter one. You email info@graceland.co.jp, return shipping is yours, the original shipping isn't refunded, and custom and sale items are final. Defects reported within 14 days with photos or video get a replacement or refund. There's no warranty.

What should I buy first from Liebe Seele?

The Cerulean Dominion leather paddle ($42.95), 3.3 inches wide, which is a good width to learn on. Put the Cerulean Dominion flogger ($45.95) and the Dark Secret spreader bar ($45.95) in the same order and the three come to $134.85. Add ankle cuffs with D-rings if you don't own any, since the bar needs them, and the order passes $150 and ships free.

Is Liebe Seele real leather?

The main lines are. Dark Secret, Wine Red, Cerulean Dominion, Samurai, Warrior Princess, Angel's Kiss and Demon's Kiss are cow leather, and Fairy and Siren's Cove are lamb. Black Bond is a mix of recycled leather and fabric, and Vegan Fetish, Dark Candy, Victorian Garden, Boudoir Amor and Metallic Shade are PU. Read the material line in each listing's specs.
