How to Use This Directory
This page lists every store alphabetically with ratings, price ranges, and one-liner summaries. If you already know the brand you're looking for, scroll to it. If you're browsing, the ratings and status labels (Elite, Great, Good, Decent) tell you at a glance whether a store is worth your time. Click any store with a review link for the full breakdown.
If you don't have a specific brand in mind, you'll get better results from the category pages. Beginner-friendly filters for first-timer picks. Budget keeps everything under $50. Best overall shows the top-rated brands across all categories. This A-Z list is a reference tool, not a starting point.
What I Look For in a Store
Product quality and material safety carry the most weight in every rating. A store with great marketing but mediocre products gets a mediocre score. Beyond the products themselves, I factor in shipping discretion (plain packaging, generic return address, non-obvious billing name), customer service responsiveness, warranty coverage, and website usability.
The directory includes three types of businesses. Manufacturers like Lovense and Tantus design and produce their own products. Retailers like Lovehoney sell multiple brands. Niche specialists like b-Vibe and Vixen Creations focus on one category and do it exceptionally well. Manufacturers tend to rate higher because quality control is tighter when you make everything yourself. Full scoring criteria on my methodology page.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you choose which stores to include?
I include stores and brands I've personally ordered from, tested, and formed an opinion about. If a brand isn't listed, it's either because I haven't gotten to it yet or I tested it and it wasn't worth listing (below 6.0 rating). I add new brands regularly. If there's a store you want me to review, let me know on the contact page.
What do the status labels mean?
Elite (9.0+) means I recommend without caveats. Great (8.0-8.9) means excellent with minor drawbacks. Good (7.0-7.9) means solid but not exceptional. Decent (6.0-6.9) means it works but I have reservations. Anything below 6.0 doesn't make the directory. I explain the full methodology on my how I test page.
Can a store be listed in multiple categories?
Yes. A brand like We-Vibe appears in vibrators, couples, app-controlled, and luxury because they make excellent products for all of those categories. Their rating might differ slightly between categories based on how strong their lineup is in each specific niche. Lovehoney appears almost everywhere because they carry products for every category.
Why is the rating different for the same store in different categories?
A store might be great at vibrators but mediocre at dildos. Lovehoney scores higher in the beginner and budget categories because that's where their product range shines, but lower in luxury because their premium options can't compete with dedicated luxury brands. The category rating reflects how good the store is specifically for that type of product.
Do you accept stores for review?
I don't accept payment for reviews or guaranteed placement. If a store wants to send products for testing, I'll accept them, but the review will be honest regardless. Most of what I test I buy with my own money or through affiliate referrals. If you represent a brand and want to be considered, reach out through the contact page. No promises on the score.
How often is this directory updated?
Whenever I have something new to add or an existing rating needs adjustment. I don't do scheduled updates for the sake of publishing new content. If a store improves or declines, the rating changes when I notice. New stores get added as I test them. The directory is a living document, not an annual publication.
Which store has the best return policy?
Lovehoney with their 1-year happiness guarantee. You can return a product within 365 days even if you've used it, which is rare in the sex toy industry. Most other stores have a no-return policy on used products for hygiene reasons, which is understandable but makes buying from them a bigger commitment. Satisfyer and We-Vibe have good warranty coverage for defects but won't take back products you simply didn't like.
Are the ratings on this site the same as other review sites?
No. My ratings are based on my own testing and scoring methodology, which you can read on my how I test page. Other sites use different criteria, different weighting, and different standards. Some sites accept payment for placement. I don't. My ratings tend to be harsher than average because I weight material safety and actual product performance over brand reputation and marketing.
